a month agoAs a grown woman I've always prided myself on trying my best to do the right thing. Namely paying my bills on time or ahead of schedule. My most recent water bill from Rockwood Water showed that I used 50 units of water during this past billing cycle. Impossible! This would mean that I used roughly 584.37 gallons of water per day to put that in perspective as a one person household so I appealed this decision and after a 24 hour period it was reduced to two units which was great with the exception of an additional fee through no fault of my own. Rockwood sent someone out here to replace my 64 year old outdated water meter without notifying me ahead of time and prior to my being able to get a plumber out here to do any sort of testing. Based on the plumbers findings he noted that he believes the overage was due to the old meter since he was unable to detect any leaks. Rockwood finally reversed the charge after I reported this to the board and I also included the office manager who I wasn't getting anywhere with. You can't charge someone a fee for a bad meter that belongs to Rockwood. Because of this Rockwood is now playing hardball. They were looking for a needle in a haystack and apparently they found one. I purchased my home back in 2014. It came with an irrigation system that I'm no longer using since my mother who lived with me passed away in March and I am retired and on a fixed income with government assistance so I simply can't afford to use it any longer. Apparently Rockwood doesn't have it on file regarding backflow information and how this system is connected. How convenient that after all these years it now becomes an issue. As I tried to explain to them, I know very little about this system and as far as I'm concerned it can be removed or capped or whatever it is that needs to be done but in any event that's more money out of my pocket than the amount that I requested to be reimbursed. Of course they know this. Shame on me for standing up for myself. Unhappy people like to make others unhappy. This sickens me. I'd give no stars but unfortunately that isn't an option if I want to submit a post.

4 months agoWe had an emergency at a property I work at where someone had parked over the access point and we needed to turn off the water, like, yesterday. I called Rockwood PUD for help and the gal who answered the phone asked important questions to help troubleshoot. She was extremely kind and informative, but we ended up needed someone dispatched to assist. Jeff showed up maybe 5 minutes later and took care of it for us. 10/10 response time and service.

8 months agoGreat customer service and extremely helpful with details. I like how you get to immediately connect with an actual person instead of speaking to AI or pressing #s to try to navigate an automated system to hopefully speak with a human. They notified us of extreme water consumption and we found a leak in our system after getting a plumber to investigate. Got it fixed and worked with us for crediting back past water usage. Thanks to them, we were able to fix a MAJOR issue of 30 gallons per hour consumption for MONTHS to 0-4 gallons per hour. Thank you Rockwood Water, truly the People’s Utility 👏.

a year agoI see a lot of negative reviews on here for good reason Yes, most of them are for past due bills pay your bill and you won’t have that problem wrong this Company charges way too much for late fees Amazon drivers make $68 in 2-3 hours dropping off 200 package these guys put a door hanger on your door and it cost $30 that should be illegal and honestly probably is Not to mention if you’re in a certain area, you have to use them This is a monopoly They know we can’t do anything about it. They’re constantly rude on the phone. They will turn off your water 24 hours before The Shut off notice They will just do it when it’s convenient for them if you have a shut off notice. Extremely trash company and I feel bad for the employees that work here have to deal with everyone that knows how horrible this company is Can’t wait to dig in deeper and figure out how to sue this company

a year agoBe mindful of their work!!!! They replaced the meters on my street and switched my meter in their system with a neighbors. I received a high water bill and they told me i was loosing 700 gallons a day of water. I paid multiple professionals to find the leak and no one could...because it didn't exist. They sent out their team to "check my meter," and had a tech out when I had a plumber there. After a month of back and forth I had to replace my water main and pay over $10,000 between myself and my home owners insurance. It wasn't until the work was almost done that we found out that they switch my meter with a neighbors. They claim NO fault. They are self insured and said that none of this is their wrong doing. When I called them and told them what this company found after digging out my old line after installing a new one they sent a tech out. He looked at it and said "yup, that's not your meter I need to call someone who makes more money than me." They caused months of stress and financial strain. They finally offered to pay me for my out of pocket expenses and demanded a letter signed by me saying my home owners insurance couldn't come after them so of course i couldn't recoup my losses at that point either. 0 stars!!!
