2 months agoThis was my first appointment with Dr. Sales I feel lucky to have found him and only wish I had found him sooner. It was so refreshing to find a provider that is not only knowledgeable in their field but also has a passion to help people. I would highly recommend him.

2 months agoI would strongly caution anyone considering this office for spine care. If 0 stars was an option, that’s what they should receive. I spent over a year and a half suffering with severe, progressive nerve symptoms, worsening mobility, falls, and loss of function in my right leg — only to be repeatedly dismissed, shuffled between different PAs, and treated like my symptoms didn’t matter because my MRI “didn’t match.” I jumped through every hoop and injection they requested. As a nurse, I requested an MRI with contrast because I understood that subtle abnormalities and nerve compression can sometimes be missed without it. One PA flat out told me insurance would not cover contrast unless I had prior back surgery. That was completely false. I personally contacted my insurance company and confirmed not only that contrast WAS covered, but that no prior authorization was even required. When I called the office back to explain this, Wendy — the office staff member handling the situation — immediately became dismissive and defensive. Instead of relaying my concerns or advocating for appropriate follow-up, she spoke over me, insisted the PA “didn’t mean that,” and decided herself that contrast “wouldn’t change anything.” I found it incredibly inappropriate for office staff to shut down legitimate medical concerns rather than communicate them to the provider. Even worse, after the MRI was finally completed, nobody from the office ever contacted me with results. No follow-up call. No discussion. Nothing. Months went by without a word while my condition continued to deteriorate. Thankfully, I sought another opinion at Oregon Spine Care, where an actual spine surgeon immediately recognized severe L5 nerve root compression. I underwent surgery the following week: * L5-S1 laminectomy * Medial facetectomy * Foraminotomy * Microdiscectomy During surgery, significant compression of the L5 nerve root was confirmed — the exact issue I had been desperately trying to get someone to take seriously for over a year and a half. No patient should have to fight this hard to be heard while progressively losing function. I never sought narcotics, never exaggerated symptoms, and repeatedly advocated for myself because I knew something was seriously wrong. Looking back, the lack of continuity, poor communication, dismissive attitudes, and refusal to listen delayed proper diagnosis and prolonged unnecessary suffering. The office ratings may look impressive online, but my experience was the complete opposite. I would never trust this office with my spine care again.

5 months agoDr. Sales and his team were great! I transferred care to him after a long wait for surgery from my initial team. It was such an easy transfer of care, it was so nice to be seen so quickly. I didn’t have to sit on hold for 20 minutes for my call to be answered and my new consult was scheduled within a few weeks! I was also seen within a few mins of my appt time. I felt cared for and important. It’s really hard to say at a larger institution where I’m usually seen at.

7 months agoDr Sales and his whole staff at Summit Spine are excellent. Dr Sales has done two cervical surgeries for me in the past and I was very happy with the results and his expertise. I recently had to go back after a car accident and saw one of the PA’s there, who was attentive and spent plenty of time answering all my questions. While I don’t wish that anyone would need to see a neurosurgeon, if you do need one, Summit Spine is hands down the best of the best!
