4 months agoI was extremely disappointed with my consultation with Shelly Perkins. I paid $390 for what was supposed to be a meaningful legal consultation, but the appointment lasted only about 40 minutes, and she was approximately 15 minutes late. I felt rushed and did not feel that the consultation was handled with the professionalism or care that someone in a serious family law matter deserves. During the consultation, I was told that she could not take my case because she did not see eye to eye with the judge and did not feel she would be a good fit as well as going out of town and not being able to represent me on my scheduled hearing. She said she would speak with an associate attorney, but I did not receive a meaningful follow-up. Later, I was told I could hire the firm after my hearing, which did not make sense to me because I needed legal help before the hearing, not afterward. In my opinion, if an attorney knows that certain judges, counties, hearing dates or case circumstances may prevent them from taking a case, those questions should be asked before charging a substantial consultation fee. I am a single parent, and $390 is a significant amount of money. I left feeling that I paid only to be told the firm would not help me when I urgently needed representation. I own my own business and understand the importance of professionalism, communication and treating people fairly. This experience was very disappointing, and I believe a refund would be appropriate under the circumstances. I will be contacting my bank. Thankfully, I have since retained another attorney, but I would not recommend this consultation experience based on how my situation was handled.

When I have more time I will elaborate. Highly recommend and I am forever grateful for her support during an extremely difficult time.

4 months agoI have a discounted estate plan service through MetLife, and Perkins Law is in network. My wife and I spent an hour or more with Erin there, and after it was clear we were not going to go for their upsold plan (much more expensive, not covered by MetLife) we were dropped like a hot potato. Our emails were not returned, and eventually, after I called, we were told “Erin is not taking on any new clients.” Yup. I get it.

4 months agoI spent nearly 75k of my money and ended with an outcome that was… standard, at best. Much time (which equals $$$) was wasted on fruitless, questionable endeavors. I feel as if they juiced me.. I’m pretty sure I’d have gotten a similar outcome without them. I would never go back.

a year agoPerkins Law has been an incredible resource for my family. We have had them handle estate planning, divorce, and custody. In all of these endeavors have been very very successful. Shelly is an outstanding attorney. She responds promptly and coaches her clients with great attention. Shelly and her team hold a high standard for themselves and for their clients which assures their success. Most notably Shelly has secured legal custody of my son, not once, but twice. After my noble attempt to share custody jointly, Shelly assisted me in re secure sole legal custody once more. If needed, I will undoubtedly retain Shelly again for any legal services her practice provides.
