11 months agoI first met Matthew when I was in 7th grade. He visited my middle school while searching for a group of junior editors to help with his book project. I was excited about the opportunity and applied, along with several other students who were also accepted. From the start, Matthew took a particular interest in me. Over time, he offered to help me with my schoolwork since I was struggling academically. I was dealing with a lot at home and suffering from anxiety, which often made it difficult for me to attend school consistently. As Matthew got closer to me, his behavior began to change in deeply inappropriate ways. He started “punishing” me by making me lie across his knees while he spanked me, or by having me sit on his lap. He would tell me that his punishments were easier than what my parents might give and that it was for my own good. This went on for some time before my parents discovered what was happening. I share this because I believe Matthew should never be trusted around children.

9 months agoMatthew helped us write a detailed parenting plan for our kids and helped us think of things to include that we didn't realize we could write into it. He also helped us sort out our Oregon PERS and our other retirement accounts. My spouse and I didn't think we'd succeed at mediation but Matthew put us at ease and showed us that we could work together better than we had thought.
