About Oregon Law Center
Oregon Law Center (OLC) is a non-profit organization that provides free legal assistance on civil matters to low-income clients in Oregon. The mission of the Oregon Law Center is to achieve justice for the low-income communities of Oregon by providing a full range of the highest quality civil legal services. In our complex society, people can need assistance to understand their legal rights and responsibilities under the rule of law. This is especially true for low-income Oregonians because they are more likely than the average person to need help with domestic violence, sexual harassment, sexual assault, Social Security, health care, housing, consumer problems or employment issues. The offices routinely conduct a needs assessment, asking clients, agencies serving clients, judges, local attorneys and staff to help us identify and prioritize the needs of clients. We set priorities based on client needs. OLC is part of a coordinated civil legal services system in Oregon. We work together with our partners, Legal Aid Services of Oregon, Lane County Law and Advocacy Center and the Center for Non-profit Legal Services to provide access to justice and fairness statewide. Equal justice under the law is not merely a caption on the Supreme Court building. It is perhaps the most inspiring ideal of our society. It is one of the ends for which our entire legal system exists……it is fundamental that justice should be the same in substance and availability without regard to economic status. 7 months agoAvoid this place, what a detrimental and vile receptionist very quick to deny help. I wasn't aware that by law one is guilty until proven innocent per these people. A few customer service classes might help this odious individual.

8 months agoHorrible experience. They do not help survivors of forced marriage and child exploitation. Very rude lady on the phone. They say they help people with domestic violence and aren’t very trauma informed.

11 months agoDon’t waste your time. I’m disabled and can barely move. The state is coming after me for child support. I googled it and they popped up. It clearly states child support is one of their focuses on their website but they tell me they only do domestic violence and housing. Then the lady argued with me telling me I was wrong. Apparently there’s no legal aid in Washington County

2 years agoTheir actions are contributing to the devastation of the city with no thoughts as to the impact at large. Don’t even return concerned citizens emails or calls. Guarantee it would be a different story if their positions and efforts impacted them directly. Look around and explain how we don’t need a camping ban by people’s homes and businesses.

4 years agoTwo stars. Would not recommend. This service is incredibly difficult to get in touch with in the first place. Then, once you do get in touch with them, they dictate what you can ask for, and don't represent you if you want to ask for something different. After literally 10 hours of back and forth, they refused to work with me because I wanted to _ask for_ (not even expect to get, just ask for) the public school to support my daughter with a dual diagnosis going to a private school that specializes in the treatment of children with a dual diagnosis. They instead insisted that I trust the public school (who violated my daughters rights by refusing to test her for a year, and then was the cause of her PTSD) to handle implementation of care. Because I wanted to ask for something more than they were comfortable supporting, they turned me down.
