a month agoI thought that I was going to be evicted. Troy and his team came through and helped me win my case. The outcome far exceeded my expectations from when my case started. Thanks again Portland Defender for an excellent job. If I ever need a lawyer again, I'll call you first!

4 months agoNEED HELP WITH AWFUL LANDLORDS? This is the place to go! Troy helped me sue my Landlord who wrongfully threw away my entire storage unit containing my childhood photos, Christmas decorations etc. after I had claimed it! He was extremely helpful and made the process stress free for me. I would obviously rather have my cherished items back but the large settlement that Troy won on my behalf will help my family make new ones! I could not recommend someone more!

4 months agoAll you do to beat your landlord is you file all the laws that he can use and all the case law defense citations. Can you just put all the citations the landlord can use on there and then they can't defend themselves against you you can lock all the doors against any attorney firm that represents your landlord. And so all you have to do to beat the landlord to beat their big attorneys is you preemptively collaboratively a stop and lock all the doors and case law and all the rules and oars and local public housing rules the lock everything the landlord can use even if you don't pay him money and 11 days you lock that role before he can file it. If you file and you represent the case law and the rules before the landlord does then he can't kick you out. That's all attorneys do really easy secret there. All you do is give those commands out to the new tools that we have.

4 months agoI retained Troy for a landlord-tenant matter and paid a $3,000 retainer. At the outset, I was told that a demand letter would likely take about a week to complete. Instead, the process extended over several months, which was far longer than I anticipated. Throughout the representation, I found communication and case progress to be slower than expected. While I eventually received the demand letter and a final accounting of my retainer, the timeline and overall handling of the matter left me disappointed. For a matter that was presented as relatively straightforward, I expected more timely follow-through and clearer communication regarding delays. Others may have a different experience, but based on mine, I would strongly encourage prospective clients to discuss timelines, communication expectations, and billing practices in detail before retaining counsel.

4 months agoPoor communication and the submission form on the website doesn't work. I tried calling and emailing because the form didn't work. After I left a one-star review (no description, just one star) Troy called and emailed me immediately to tell me he would not represent me because of my review. Interesting that he has the time to communicate once a review is left to try and tell a potential client off, but not beforehand when said client is seeking assistance. As I said to Troy, I didnt think he would represent me based on the lack of communication from his office so him calling to tell me he won't represent me is funny. I had hoped the bad reviews were just one-off cases, but clearly they were right. He came off as arrogant over the phone which seems to be, based on other reviews, standard practice for Troy.
